A $4 k cheaper MSRP (6-cylinder premium trim level) VS a 6-speed manual , what appears to be a hatch VS a reasonable backseat. Everything else seems about equal on paper and styling is a matter of taste.

m2 comp. i drove one and they’re pretty amazing. i get why people say get the m240 though, it is a very aggressive car to dd. (I kind of feel that way with the e39 m5 too...)

The M240i is damn near perfect once fitted with BMW’s warranty-approved, DSC-friendly clutch-type LSD.

I’d go for the M240i with a manual and only adding heated seats and steering wheel. Save ~$12k on the price of the M2, for a better road car .
In reality the savings would be more, currently there’s a $3.5k rebate on the M240i and $0 on the M2.

If I’m spending $50k on a BMW I will make damn sure they don’t forget the badge!

The best answer is buy the M240 2-3 years old at less than half MSRP

Can’t believe I’m going to say this, M2.

Have not driven either or anything too. s imilar-if I am spending that much on a vehicle it will be my daily, so likely the BMW for more space for people and things. If bought as extra fun/entertainment car easily the Supra. I think it looks kind of cool.

Manual transmission vs. that other thing? No question.
Not that I can afford it anyway
, so the manufacturers can feel free to
ignore my preferences
; the cost of a new
base Supra or M2
is more than the last five cars I’ve
bought,
all put together.
